Identity Shapes Everything.

Restoring Identity. Raising Leaders.

Advancing the understanding and practice of identity formation.

Why Identity Matters

Every person asks fundamental questions about identity.

Who am I? Why am I here? Where do I belong? What kind of person am I becoming?

Whether we realize it or not, the answers to these questions shape the way we think, build relationships, make decisions, lead, and contribute to the world around us.

That is why identity matters.

When identity is secure, people are better equipped to live with purpose, lead with integrity, and positively influence their families, communities, and society.

What We Do

Identity formation is too important to be left to chance.

Imago Dei Institute advances the understanding and practice of identity formation through five connected areas of work.

R

Research

We advance research into identity formation and contribute knowledge that strengthens people, families, and institutions.

E

Education

We create learning experiences and resources that make identity formation understandable and practical.

F

Frameworks

We develop practical models and tools that help others apply identity formation in different contexts.

P

Partnerships

We collaborate with schools, churches, universities, governments, and community groups to expand lasting impact.

T

Transformative Programs

We put identity formation into practice through programs that equip people to grow in identity, purpose, character, and leadership.

Our Flagship Initiative

The Adolescent Girls Identity Development Framework

The first practical expression of Imago Dei Institute’s work. Designed for girls aged 12 to 19, this structured framework helps young people develop a secure sense of identity that shapes healthy choices, purposeful leadership, and lifelong flourishing.

Grounded in the biblical truth that every person is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), the framework guides girls through a journey of identity formation supported by trusted mentors, practical learning, and consistent relationships.

As the Institute’s flagship framework, it demonstrates how identity formation can be intentionally cultivated and applied in real life. It is the first expression of a broader vision to advance identity formation across individuals, families, institutions, and communities.

Lasting transformation begins with identity, but no single organization can do this work alone.

Schools, churches, organizations, researchers, practitioners, philanthropists, and individuals all have a role to play in helping people discover who they are and grow into who they were created to be.

Whether you are exploring new ways to support young people, strengthen your institution, contribute through research, or invest in this work, we would love to connect.

Together, we can help build a world where identity is the foundation of purposeful leadership and human flourishing.
